June 22, 2022: the date of the “Partner Country Day for Italy supported by REAS” has been set at INTERSCHUTZ

REAS will once again be the protagonist at INTERSCHUTZ, the world’s leading trade fair for the safety sector scheduled in Hanover from 20 to 25 June 2022.

Within the Italian collective, there will be room for the technologies and know-how that make our country a virtuous model on a European scale.

The highlight will be the “Country Partner Day for Italy supported by REAS” scheduled for Wednesday 22 June. A day entirely dedicated to our country in which to promote the Italian emergency management system, consolidate institutional partnerships and present the unique characteristics of REAS to European players.

Over 23,000 operators and volunteers return to meet at the exhibition grounds: strong recovery sign from REAS

A moment of collective recovery and thanks given to professionals and volunteers for their relentless effort and commitment during the months of the pandemic. The 2021 edition of REAS, the leading exhibition in Italy dedicated to the civil protection, first aid and fire protection emergency sector that boasts a 20-year history, closed with a high energy message.

From October 8th to 10th, the International Emergency Exhibition brought over 23,000 professionals and volunteers together from all over Italy to Montichiari. The exhibition left the emergency generated by the pandemic in its wake and returned to welcome the most important manufacturing and commercial realities in the sector, ready to take advantage of the direct contact with professionals and volunteers in the field.

REAS 2021 thus marks an ideal restarting point for the sector, as highlighted during the inauguration ceremony by the Head of the Italian Civil Protection Department Fabrizio Curcio, who thanked the entire world of volunteers and emergency professionals that permitted the country to cope with the difficulties over the last year. The Civil Protection Department was present at REAS with an institutional stand where it illustrated its activities on the territory, through an installation consisting of a special self-propelled plate that simulated seismic events, created in partnership with Fondazione Eucentre, the European Centre for Training and Research in Seismic Engineering in Pavia. During the days of the exhibition visitors were able to experience a seismic event, gaining greater awareness in relation to earthquake risk and the need to adopt best practices to reduce their impact.

REAS reaffirmed the same exhibition space as the 2019 edition with an exhibitor audience that represented the key sectors in which the emergency system is articulated at its best: first aid, civil protection and fire protection. “There is an enormous desire to begin again and an extraordinary public attendance” explained Tommaso Croce, Manager of the IVECO Special Transport plant in Brescia. “Returning today to a tradeshow – the most important in Italy, among the first to open in Europe – is above all for us a cause for joy, which gives some breathing space and happiness to us. It is also really important because here we gather all feedback from the market”. The exhibition has thus confirmed its role as a unique occasion to do business, and, after waiting for two years, the 2021 edition seems to have gone beyond initial expectations. “We are very happy to have participated in REAS”, declared Giulia Gandolfi, Marketing Manager for BAI Brescia Antincendi International. “Over the last two years the digital world has helped to maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders, but the chance to touch vehicles and components is a plus only tradeshows can provide”. This opinion is also shared by Mauro Massai, Managing Director of the company Mariani Fratelli: “There is a desire to re-emerge and great interest in new products is circulating”, he declared at the end of the tradeshow. “Attendance was truly remarkable, and our verdict is extremely positive.Marco Leonardi, Commercial Manager of the Focaccia Group also drew up a satisfactory balance sheet. “We are very satisfied with this year’s tradeshow”, he explained on Sunday morning. “Turnout was excellent and exceeded expectations. There is the desire to meet and great interest in vehicles and all that the tradeshow offers”.

REAS 2021 thus preserves direct contact with exhibiting companies and shows it provides concrete responses to their needs. This is an important result that rewards a tradeshow format that, over twenty years of history has been able to win the confidence of companies, institutions and associations linked to the emergency sector.

REAS is the result of enormous teamwork”, declared Gianantonio Rosa, President of Centro Fiera Montichiari. “Our exhibition has been able to react in the face of adversity, sending out a strong message of hope and faith. The tradeshow system can make an essential contribution to recovery, giving value to ideas, and the ability to work and desire to innovate to companies. Our thanks go to the volunteers, professionals and to all the companies that work each day to guarantee our safety”.

REAS concludes with a very encouraging result”, declared Ezio Zorzi, Manager of Centro Fiera. “2021 edition numbers show that the emergency sector believes in the added value of tradeshows and wishes to return to believing in the future. The know-how of our companies is of inestimable value and is the foundation from which we must start again”.

After almost two years of prevalently online interaction the wish to hold events in presence has returned”, explained Andreas Züge, Managing Director of Hannover Fairs International GmbH, the Italian headquarters of Deutsche Messe AG. “Through its 2021 edition REAS has reinforced its leadership position. In the year 2022 Italy will be once again an INTERSCHUTZ Partner Country. A not-to-be-missed occasion to develop the internationalization of REAS and above all to carry forward exchanges between the Italian emergency system and international key players”.

International partnership is more important than ever”, confirmed Dirk Aschenbrenner, President of vdfb, the German Fire Protection Association. “At REAS we presented the German First Aid Robotics Centre (DRZ), which deals with research and development of mobile robotic systems for civil safety that were recently used during the flooding catastrophe in Germany. REAS offers an excellent opportunity to preview innovations and newness in products that will be featured next year at INTERSCHUTZ”.

REAS struck me positively”, declared Karl-Heinz Banse, President of DFV (German Association of Fire-fighters). “We intend to continue with our partnership and confirm our attendance at the 2022 edition that will follow the appointment at INTERSCHUTZ a few months later.”

During the REAS inauguration ceremony, the vfdb President Dirk Aschenbrenner and the DFV President Karl-Heinz Banse welcomed the Head of the Italian Civil Protection Department Fabrizio Curcio to the INTERSCHUTZ stand, officially inviting him to the next edition of the quinquennial world leader tradeshow for the safety sector that will take place in Hannover from June 20th to 25th 2022. REAS and leading Italian companies will be key players during the Italy Partner Country Day that will take place with a series of initiatives specifically dedicated to our country. The synergy between Centro Fiera di Montichiari and Deutsche Messe AG has created a permanent channel of dialogue and cooperation between Italy and Germany and has contributed to growing the international appeal of the REAS brand.

The conference activities also proved to be an asset to the exhibition. The national conference “Drones in emergencies” was greatly appreciated. Organised on Friday by Mediarkè, it explored a topic becoming more and more strategic for Civil Protection that pays increasing attention to the implementation of significant technological developments. On Saturday the conference “Communication in emergency” generated high interest. It was presented by ANPAS and dealt with highly topical issues, thanks also to the speeches given by Fabrizio Curcio Head of the Italian Civil Protection Department and President of ANPAS Fabrizio Pregliasco. As per tradition, the A.I.B. Round Table, supported by the magazine “Italian Civil Protection”, confirmed its high profile and thanks to the presence of representatives from all regions in Italy, permitted assessment of the situation in relation to woodland fire protection in the country both in terms of legislation and operationally, drawing up new strategies after an extremely critical summer.

REAS 2021 concluded thus with the desire to return to planning with confidence for the future. The dates of next year’s edition have already been set for 7th, 8th and 9th October 2022.

A moment of collective restart: the 2021 edition of REAS has been inaugurated

REAS crosses the 20-year milestone: everything is ready for the restart edition

After the break imposed by the emergency linked to COVID-19, the Italian trade fair system is experiencing a restart phase in which operators and professionals return to meet and plan for the future. The 2021 edition of REAS, the leading trade fair in Italy for the first aid, civil protection and fire prevention sector, scheduled from 8 to 10 October at the Centro Fiera di Montichiari (BS), therefore marks a new beginning, in the name of constructive confrontation between Bodies, Associations, Voluntary Groups and specialized companies. In fact, thanks to their attitude to sacrifice and the ability to innovate, these realities are the real protagonists of the national emergency management protocol.

The restart of the exhibition system is an opportunity not to be missed,” said Gianantonio Rosa, president of Centro Fiera S.p.A.. “The fairs are born in support of the territory, with the aim of supporting business activity and giving concrete answers to the needs of the public. REAS addresses a key area, that of emergency management. Never before have we been so proud to promote the most important Italian trade fair in the sector. We want to dedicate the 2021 edition of REAS to all the volunteers and operators who, during this difficult year, have done their utmost to ensure the safety of our communities.

The most important production and commercial realities operating in the first aid, civil protection and fire prevention emergencies are present at the fair. REAS 2021 is the mirror of a very dynamic sector which, in our country, includes companies with a great tradition, strongly oriented towards product innovation and able to compete on international markets.

Thanks to the partnership with Hannover Fairs International GmbH and INTERSCHUTZ, the world’s leading specialized trade fair held every five years in Hanover, REAS is even more open to technology transfer and knowledge exchange with major European partners and players in sector. Today the fair is an opportunity for all-out confrontation, in a European key, where the protagonists of the Italian emergency management system can increase their technical background and develop an increasingly integrated and effective approach to emergency management.

“After almost two years of mainly online interactions, the desire to hold an event in person has returned”, says Andreas Züge, general manager of Hannover Fairs International GmbH. “And then in the next year 2022 Italy will again be INTERSCHUTZ Partner Country. An unmissable opportunity to deepen the internationalization of REAS and above all for the exchange between the Italian sector with the world.

REAS is a fair that has always invested in on-the-job training. Fair events are a valuable opportunity for emergency sector operators and volunteers because they constitute concrete moments of confrontation, in which to learn new skills and measure one’s level of preparation. Sartoria Schiavi: “We must return to meet, to confront, to have faith in the future and in our fundamental role as Companies and Associations”

For twenty years Sartoria Schiavi has been a partner of REAS and has shared every moment of growth that has been truly mutual. Today the Piacenza-based company confirms its presence at the fair with the enthusiasm of the first edition and a wealth of experience that has earned it the trust of institutions, operators and emergency volunteers.

Here is our interview with Marica Montanari, marketing manager of Sartoria Schiavi.

The past year was inevitably marked by COVID-19. The emergency sector has played a key role in addressing the spread of the pandemic. What is the experience of Sartoria Schiavi?
Sartoria Schiavi has been at the forefront of the fight against the pandemic. Especially in the first lockdown, our certified washable masks helped the police and rescuers and the population to protect themselves. Our company is based in Piacenza, the epicenter of the first pandemic wave, so the commitment was really great, as well as the fear of something that was unknown. It was a touching and tiring experience, but we also saw the solidarity of many companies, like ours, which have donated so many protection devices.

REAS 2021 is proposed as a starting point for the entire sector and wants to convey to operators and volunteers a signal of unity and confidence in the future. What are your expectations for this edition?
The objective of Sartoria Schiavi is aligned with that of the Fair, of which we have been a partner for 20 years and with which we have shared every moment and every experience. We must return to meet, to confront, to have faith in the future and in our fundamental role as Companies and Associations operating in such a crucial sector.
We expect a desire for rebirth and a desire for sociality.

What news will you bring to REAS 2021? Are there any special initiatives that you will present at the fair?
For its commitment during the pandemic, Sartoria Schiavi is “Artisan of the year”. Confartigianato Piacenza has created a book that tells our story: we will deliver it to the authorities and to the Fair as a sign of thanks. In our stand we will present the news in terms of fabrics and accessories. As every year, Sartoria Schiavi is sponsor of various initiatives: first of all the “Trofeo Cinofili da Soccorso”, now in its sixth edition, led by Giovanni Martinelli. Lots of news this year in terms of research and obedience of our four-legged friends, indispensable in many emergency scenarios. In the Pavilion set up by the Italian Red Cross, in addition to the large exhibition of vehicles and activities, a play area will be set up with a table football tournament; the initiative was born in the name of the return to sociality and Sartoria Schiavi has gladly married the sponsorship of all the awards. Collaboration also with the ANA Civil Protection in the Pavilion set up together with the Alpine Troops.

CIVES: a workshop dedicated to the new area of action of Emergency Nurses

The presence at REAS of CIVES is also confirmed for 2021. Among the initiatives proposed at the fair, the workshop entitled “The role of the nurse within the civil protection system” stands out, scheduled for Saturday 9 October, at 3.30 pm, in the Scalvini Room (first floor, central entrance).

CIVES has become a scientific society, addressing the type C emergency and using resources in very different fields than in the past. In light of the experience gained over the years and in particular during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Round Table aims to outline the scope of action of CIVES, giving new motivation to the volunteers who give every day a fundamental contribution on the field.

The Round Table scheduled at REAS will be attended by CIVES, FNOPI, OPI Brescia, Civil Protection and voluntary associations.

At REAS the Driver of the Year Trophy and the Formula Safe Driving training events

Formula Guida Sicura confirms its presence at REAS with a stand at the fair and two engaging events open to all. The first is the E.M.O. aimed at drivers of medical vehicles which will take place in the days preceding the Show, Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 October. Two days that will prepare students to acquire the skills necessary for a better management of the health vehicle from a theoretical, methodological and practical point of view. Registrations are open on the website www.formulaguidasicura.it or by calling 0564 966 346.

For Formula Guida Sicura, the new edition of REAS also represents an opportunity to raise awareness of another important novelty of this 2021. This is the new training course called “Specialized Driving Technician”. This figure, completely new in the world of associations, will be able to manage information, training and benefits related to safe driving in the health sector, for the benefit of the association in which it operates. The associations that decide to invest in this figure will be completely autonomous in the training of all their drivers.
The training course does not provide for specific participation requirements, it is open to all those who work within the association, regardless of the role held.

The REAS will therefore also be an opportunity to deepen the debate on road safety, the professionalism of the drivers who drive medical vehicles and the birth of new specialized figures within the individual voluntary associations.

SegnamiTS: at REAS an innovative suite for the management of associations
